Orientation for the Pipeline Program internship.

Today was the official start of the Pipeline internship. There are about 9-10 Pacific Islander interns who are participating. These interns are either in high school or college all over Orange, Long Beach & Los Angeles counties. Addition to the interns was preceptors and coordinators of the program. Some faces were new but the majority of the LEADERS in the room I had met and worked with on different occasions. This program has been in the planning for some time now, and now we’re able to see and do the work in the community FIRST HAND. I have heard about the 1st steps in the Pipeline program that took place in San Diego and was amazed to see the progress ever since.

The day was filled with detailed information about the process of the internship. The first portion of orientation was just a recap of the history of the program and what it has become today. After, we were paired in groups of 2-3 and were paired off with different preceptors. It’s crazy to see how willing & helpful people can be if there are similar GOALS FOR THE FUTURE. The day last until about 2pm, just in time to catch Dr. Phil@home.. Lol. Just kidding.
